Primary schools in Tanzania begin at age 7 or class 1. They run through about age 13 and the highest level is class 7. Most schools teach all subjects including, English, Math, Kiswahili, Geography/Social Studies, Science, and Life Skills. As a volunteer you will most likely be teaching English to any age group.
There are government issued text books that are used as the curriculum. They tend to teach concepts that are more advanced than the students. However, some schools will allow you to deviate from the lessons more then others. Be prepared to teach the basics of the English language including vocabulary and grammar.
